The Good Things In Life

It occurs to me that I don't usually just post random thoughts in this journal. Guess I'm just not a random thought sharing kind of person. Whatever. But I've read the endings to two remarkable fanfics in the past couple of weeks and it seems to me that the writers of those fics should be congratulated.

Cerulean Dragon by JAZWriter is perhaps the finest crossover fic of any genres that I've ever read. Now, I told her this in a private email, but I'll repeat it here publicly. I've avoided ALL Harry Potter fanfic because I can't stand the idea of the professors sexually involved with students and that's where a lot of them head. But I loved every moment of CD and the characters and relationships in it. If you haven't read this marvelous piece then run, and I do mean RUN, over to ff.net and do so. Jazzy, you left me breathless.

Now, the second remarkable fic was just posted this morning. Like Love is the third? fourth? installment in akasarahsmom's "LIKE" series. I'm not even going to bother trying to differentiate them...just find her journal and read EVERY LAST ONE. You not only won't regret it, but by the time you get to the ending I just finished, you will do so with a song in your heart and a smile on your face. Hopeless romantics everywhere take heed! These stories are for you! Gin, you done good, girl.

Okay, so, there it is. Lay in a supply of your favorite beverage and munchies, get comfortable in your chair, and then run along and go read them...again if need be. Go on now...

Or, as our favorite editor might say...that's all.

Web Sites - the sequel

Okay, now I'm really serious. I've got all my current stories posted to the web sites and those pesky ads have finally disappeared as well. So you can find my collected works (and any other little things that catch my eye) on my website FOXFIRE AND MOONLIGHT. The URL is: http://beachbum3668.tripod.com/foxfireandmoonlight/

As I said, I've got the posting complete, so if you've a mind to read AND ALL I COULD SAY WAS HELLO with the original email addresses included, it's there. Also, the formatting of the dream sequence in A MOMENT is a bit different and easier to read on the web site as well (in my humble opinion). Anyhow, from now on, I'll post to the web sites first then post to fanfiction.net and LiveJournal depending on the story genre.

Again, my deepest thanks to all of you for your continued patience whilst I wrestled with all this techno-crap

Web Sites

I've finally regained control of my wayward web sites and will have all current stories posted there for your reading pleasure as quickly as possible. Again, I thank you all for your patience while I wrestled with them.

I've had a real eye-opener over the few days. I posted JIGSAW on fanfiction.net as a single entity just to get it up and because I wasn't in the mood to play around with 19 separate chapters. But I'm nearly finished with chapter 20 and I realized that I needed to re-format the story into individual chapters so it can be completed. So I did that - and all hell broke loose.

JIGSAW had 4100 hits in 5 days. I'm absolutely gobsmacked at that response. So, I hereby once again promise to finish the story for all of you who have stuck with it (and me) all this time.

I cannot thank you enough for that kind of support.

30K! And counting...

I was just cruising my web sites and noticed that I'd just hit 30,000 hits on Foxfire and Moonlight, my MIRANDY site. I can't thank all of you enough for you continued enthusiasm for my scribblings, even through my dry spell and the theft of my laptop. Knowing that there are loyal readers out there in the ethernet makes it so much easier to sit back down and pound away when you've hit the wall and nothing you write seems at all what you intended.

Again, from the bottom of my heart...thank you!

I apologize to all and sundry for my tardiness in posting this so late, but I've finally posted my HOLIDAY J7 story, RECLAMATION. You can find it on the eFiction Archives at J7Faction.com or under my ID beachbum3668 at fanfiction.net.

As always, constructive comments and criticism are welcome. Please take the time to give me feedback if at all possible.

Here's some of the skinny.

Disclaimer:                  I don't own these characters; they belong to Paramount and were brought to life by those lovely and talented ladies Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan. No profit is made nor infringement intended. I'm just borrowing them for a little while and I promise to put them back when I'm through. Whether or not they'll ever be the same again is anybody's guess.

Rating:  M/NC-17      If you have a problem with two adult women in a committed, loving relationship then this is where you need to find something else to read.

Distribution:              Do not archive or repost without author's permission.

Feedback:                  As always, constructive criticism and comments are welcome.

Summary:                  It’s Christmas time, and Kathryn’s priorities are confused. She gets some unexpected help in sorting them out.

A/N:                            I must give thanks to the people who labored mightily to wrestle this into a readable story. Quiethearted and JAZwriter13 uncomplainingly dealt with thousands of extraneous commas (both deleting AND adding), corrected my ongoing and unapologetic misuse of the ellipse and managed to keep my plot churning determinedly in the direction it needed to go despite my whines, pleas and threats. Ladies, you are amazing. A would-be writer could have no better friends.

A/N:                            I would also be remiss if I did not fervently thank Gina Dartt for a singular bit of fanon she created in her Just Between series. Where, oh where, would J/7 fan fiction be without the WonderWand 9000?
